Sarah Jackson – Jackson & Young

Sarah Jackson

Growing up along the rugged Cornish coast Sarah’s childhood was shaped by nature, wildlife and adventure which are all elements that continue to inspire her work today.

After graduating from Falmouth University in 2011 with a degree in Illustration she began her career as a freelance editorial illustrator working with clients including The Wall Street Journal, German Wings airline, and Starbucks. Alongside these commissions, she pursued personal projects, expanding her portfolio and exhibiting in galleries. In 2016 she co-founded  gallery and studio Jackson and Young in Barnstaple, North Devon.

At the core of her practice is the use of recycled magazines, transforming paper into richly textured, paint-like compositions. Through her art she seeks to celebrate the natural world while encouraging a deeper awareness of the need to protect it.

Sarah was recently awarded as the 'Into the Blue' category winner at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2025 Exhibition. Previous to this she won the the Ronald Morgan Memorial Prize at the Royal Society of British Artists Exhibition in 2023.

She exhibits regularly throughout the UK and is signed with leading art publishers C&D Fine Art.
